Industry in the Humber region

The Humber is home to a variety of industries including chemical and process engineering, manufacturing and energy production.  Some of this industry is governed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) and requires specific emergency plans and procedures both internal and external to be put in place in conjunction with the local authorities and multi-agency partners.

But for those sites who do not have to produce such detailed plans and procedures it may be useful to read through some of the information on our website on how to prepare a business continuity plan.

If you are looking for information about the industrial sites in your area or what you should do if a major accident occurs, then the first place to look would be the 'Go in, stay in, tune in' website.

Go In, Stay In, Tune In (external website)

Humber Chemical Focus (HCF) has put the website together to explain what you should do and how you’ll get information during a major accident. You can also use the postcode search to find out which sites are close to you. By clicking on the site location you can find out about the sites activities, the substances it holds, major accident hazards and the sites sirens.
